18th century French style workbench, built using the description by Andre Roubo in With all the Precision Possible (translated and reprinted by Lost Art Press, 2015) and the engraving at Plate 11. Base unit of measurement used throughout the build was the 18th century pouce. Oak, with single piece “slab” bench top, finished with boiled linseed oil. Vise and seat hardware by Benchcrafted, planing stop forged by Peter Ross, holdfasts by Crucible Tool, Saddlebag by Texas Heritage, plaque engraved by Jenny Bower.
